Northern Song Collective
The NSC is built around the strong creative themes, and innovative songwriting thought behind musical networks such as Tin Pan Alley.

Based in Manchester, we have several different branches of the Collective: 1. 15 songwriters who are writing and producing a 'contracted' amount of songs per month. The 'Song-List' from each month will be uploaded to the main Collective website. The website will act as a monthly web magazine where labels, publishers and artists can listen to the Collective's songs from that given month. The site will be fully interactive and will allow site-visitors to vote for their favourite tracks by using song-counters etc. Songwriters are signed on a yearly contract and the line-up can change during the years period, almost like a football squad. We have legal representation from Lee and Thompsons in London at the moment (Queen, Katie Melua, JLS). It is hoped that to begin with that the NSC can act as a 'springboard' to its members, helping them attain publishing contracts and establish good relationships with larger record companies etc. Almost like a good 1st Division football team with a good youth policy, hence the 11 members that will be featured in the web-mag every month. ( We already have 15 very talented writers writing for the Collective at the moment.) 2. As well as a monthly 'Song-List' the site will feature the NSC Music Channel. Every month the channel will feature a number of NSC Music Programmes. Our film team recently provided the official film coverage for this years Hungry Pigeon Festival in Manchester Northern Quarter. The programmes featured on NSCTV will range from live gigs from around the NorthWest, interviews, masterclass sessions, songwriting sessions and much more. 3. The NSC site will also feature a FORUM. This is a free 'community' feature where songwriters will be able to discuss songwriting and interact with each other, establish partnerships etc. Although its free you will have to 'sign-up' to become a member of this. Members will also be given the opportunity to be 'rated' by the Collective 'star-rating' system. They will be charged a small fee for this feature and it will allow forum visitors to see the 'skill' of other songwriters involved within the forum. 4.? We have a Web Media Team. 3 girls who run the social media sites and main website. The girls are regularly updating the content of all our sites and keeping public interest. We also have the help and guidance from Ian Mood, Ian has worked with on the social media sides of acts such as Christina Aguilera, Puff Daddy and Brittany Spears.
We already have the help and backing from Ronan Keating's manager Mark Plunkett, also the MD of Ronan's publisher's, Stuart Hornall of Hornall Bros has been mentoring us, as well as Sean Divine, vice-president of ASCAP. We have members of The Stereophonics who are part of our writing team and producers involved who have worked with The Charlatans, Oasis and New Order.
We seriously need money now as i have been funding everything myself so far and its now running out. Please help us. cheers Jimmy Docherty
