Submitted by NOISE_FESTIVAL.

NOISELAB, the innovative Guerrilla Pop-Up Shop presents a concentrated 5-day fest, packed full of FREE creative events and opportunities for the region... and the 240,000 newbies.

Let’s influence the next wave of creatives on the scene to fall in love with/ and remain in our city...

NOISEfestival.com, the award-winning* Manchester, born and bred charity will work with local creative talent to offer:

• Interactive market of local creatives to pimp your look and room, Alt-Poster Sale or design your own, fortune tellers, Drop-in Screen-printing – to customise your clothes...

• ‘Manchester Cool - Underground City Tours’ to places you should know, fronted by those in the know

• Get your creative work critiqued by industry pros

• Phone Camera Mission– contribute to ‘My Week in Manchester’ collage

• ‘How To Get The Most Out Of Uni’ Q’n’A– with NOISE artists

• Information on how to get involved in those all important extracurricular activities (volunteering etc)

• Work with a creative company on a marketing mission for NOISELAB arresting window displays, benefiting from an audience of over 1 million

• Manchester Creative Industry Talks – ‘Start now to get your Dream Job’

• Performances of the best up and coming bands to note

• A call out to local enterprising geniuses to pitch ideas for events at NOISELAB. We’ll supply staff and promotion

• Live ‘Scribble Space’

Finishing with a ‘End of Fest Bash’ with local creatives.

Events will be available online www.NOISEfestival.com for those unable to attend.

All designed to inspire the next generation of creatives and get fresh ideas and collaborations going.

Funded by Manchester City Council, the NOISE Charity hijacked the old Shelly’s shoe-shop in December 2009 to launch NOISELAB:

- Attracted over 30,000 visitors

- 100 artists sold and exhibited work

- 45 free seminars, workshops and portfolio reviews with top industry pros including Peter Hook, SuperSuper Magazine, Sony signed Karima Francis, illustrator Pete Fowler, stencil artist Pure Evil and locals such as Virus Syndicate, Envy, Sankeys, UHC, and Spearfish

- Press coverage in Look Magazine, Sunday Times, BBC, Flux and SuperSuper, including regional exposure in MEN and Chimp

- Hosted 8 exhibitions

- Local collectives In The Loop, Mind on Fire and Gifted Kidz offered a stage to host creative networking events

- Don’t Pay To Play gigs – offering unsigned acts a free stage to play

- over 150 volunteers

- Staff from ‘Back To Work’ & ‘Future Jobs Fund’ initiatives, getting long-term unemployed, back into work

- over 750 signatures on our online petition to ‘Keep the NOISELAB Open’

By re-opening NOISELAB, we’ll

• animate Market Street once more with local talent amongst the corporate

• continue to influence the powers that be to keep the NOISELAB ethos alive

NOISE Charity is funded ‘project-by-project’, without Umbro Industries it's unlikely that this will happen. Through this pitch ‘NOISE:Welcome To Manchester’ intends to attract further sponsorship and funding.

A not-for-profit, free, creative festival? Yes please.

10,000 for just five days of events for people who may not even know where the city centre is and who are bombarded with stuff to do left right and centre seems like a lot of money. Great space tho, I like Noise.

Noise is a fantastic place for young creative people to network and learn. It has given me personally many opportunities, i've met some wonderfull and interesting people and i'm sure if given a helping hand it can do the same for others. x
