submitted 14th Feb 2010 by freeforartsfestivalThe Free For Arts Festival is a not-for-profit celebration of art and performance, hosting free nightly events and exhibitions open daily.
"The Free For Arts Festival is a not-for-profit celebration of art and performance. Manchester will play host to a weeklong series of events fuelled by the varying ideas of local artists and performers united by their desire to provide inventive and unique experiences for the public “on the house”.
The work will range from contemporary art exhibitions located in diverse city centre spaces to innovatively presented interactive events and one-off performances taking place each evening.
Free For Arts. Free For All."
The Free For Arts Festival has 3 main aims:
1.To provide local up and coming artists with a platform to showcase their work, and to form new connections within the Manchester art scene. 2.To be completely free for participants and attendees. 3.For everyone involved to have a great deal of fun.
To achieve these goals we rely entirely on donations and sponsorship from local businesses.
Free For Arts Festival 2009 was a great success within the limits of it's budget. We hope that with funding, 2010 will be a bigger festival, involving more people with brilliant ideas.
This year we plan to have open calls for submissions, and have opened up more positions within the organisational team for individuals that wish to gain experience in the field.
We are looking for Artists/Designers/Curators/Performers/Musicians/Ideas to make Free For Arts Festival 2010 the biggest year yet! Please get in touch.

Amazing idea, will really create networks for up and coming creatives and also give a forum for their work to be acknowledged, great work keep it up.
Posted by ma83 Feb 16th2009 saw fantastic exciting new platforms opening up to the public and Manchester's creative talent with FFAF. This festival offers a wide range of opportunities and has a fantastic inclusive ethos, expanded resources would be used well by this team.
